Perfect Ruin

Perfect Ruin (Internment Chronicles, #1)

LOOK.

LOOK AT IT.

ISN’T IT THE MOST GORGEOUS THING YOUR MORTAL EYES HAVE EVER SEEN???

Seriously. Like, I think this is probably the most beautiful cover I have ever seen. To me, absolutely none of any of the other books I’ve read even compare when it comes to cover beautifulness.

I just really, really, needed to fangirl over this novel.

Because 1.) it’s by Lauren DeStefano, and she’s, like, bloody amazing and 2.) look what it’s about:

Synopsis via Goodreads:

On Internment, the floating island in the clouds where 16-year-old Morgan Stockhour lives, getting too close to the edge can lead to madness. Even though Morgan’s older brother, Lex, was a Jumper, Morgan vows never to end up like him. She tries her best not to mind that her life is orderly and boring, and if she ever wonders about the ground, and why it is forbidden, she takes solace in best friend Pen and her betrothed, Basil.

Then a murder, the first in a generation, rocks the city. With whispers swirling and fear on the wind, Morgan can no longer stop herself from investigating, especially when she meets Judas. He is the boy being blamed for the murder — betrothed to the victim — but Morgan is convinced of his innocence. Secrets lay at the heart of Internment, but nothing can prepare Morgan for what she will find — or who she will lose.

I want it.

Scratch that. I need it.

I think I have completed my fangirling quota for the next, oh, five years?

(LOL. That’s such a lie. It will NEVER be full.)

First off, it’s about AN ISLAND in the SKY . . .

Yup, I’m dead.

To me, this is going to be one of those rare YA books that I do not read  for the (hopefully) amazing love interest that makes me swoon with envy. I don’t give two hoots about the guys in this novel. I just want to read about Morgan and Pen.

That’s it.
